Author and editor of Khao-Sok.com

This is the guide to Khao Sok I wanted to exist. Here is what it covers, how each page is researched, and how to tell me when something has gone out of date.

What this Khao Sok guide covers

Khao-Sok.com is an independent guide to Khao Sok National Park and Cheow Lan Lake, in Surat Thani province in southern Thailand. It covers the park and the lake, floating bungalows, where to stay, tours, how to get there, the seasons and what to do. The guide is published in English and German, and both versions follow the same research and correction process.

Practical details are built on official sources wherever they exist: the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation for park rules and fees, the Tourism Authority of Thailand for tourism information, the Thai Meteorological Department for weather, and your own government's travel advice for entry rules and safety. Each page names the sources it relies on.

Why this guide exists

Kylian Dev is my pen name. I build and run a small network of independent travel guides: Thailand Voyager, Koh-Lanta-Island.com, Railay-Krabi.com and Khao-Sok.com. The same person writes, verifies and corrects all of them. I write in English, French and German, so the pages published in these languages come from the same editorial process.

I wanted guides that are clear about where their information comes from. Travel pages often mix facts, opinions and advertising without saying which is which. Here, practical details are checked against official sources, affiliate links are labelled as sponsored, and no place pays to be listed or recommended. The goal is simple: give you information you can verify yourself before you book or travel.

How I work

Every page starts with a research phase, then each practical claim is cross-checked with official sources: park authorities, weather services, transport operators, and entry and visa rules. Prices, schedules and travel times are given as indications and checked on the date shown on the page. When an official source says something different, the official source wins and the page is corrected.

Live prices and ratings for tours and stays come from booking partners such as GetYourGuide and Trip.com, and they can change until you book. I never publish a price, rating or review count that I have not read on the live partner listing. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored, and no recommendation is sold or exchanged. Every page has a button to report outdated information. I read these reports and apply corrections quickly, then update the date shown on the page.

In short

  • I write this guide in English and German.
  • I build it on official Thai sources for park rules, fees and weather.
  • I never publish a price, rating or review count I have not read on the live partner listing.
  • I correct outdated pages as soon as you report them.
